Speed Shotgun

Speed Shotgun is a fun and exciting shooting sport utilizing shotguns that are no less than 20 Gauge. Courses of fire will include reactive steel targets of various sizes as well as some clay targets that are launched by reactive targets. As the title suggests, speed is the primary goal, accuracy is secondary. Competitors will be given a specific (Par) amount of time for each stage depending on what division they are competing in. Subsequent hits after the .30 buffer time will not count for score. Score will be determined by number of steel targets toppled and/or clay targets shot. Normally, a match will consist of 5 stages. Some may require movement, some may require shooting through or around obstacles. Examples would be windows and barricades.

$15.00 for Riley Conservation Club members
Children under the age of 18 shoot for free with paying adult.

7:00am, as there are a lot of targets and props, all help will be greatly appreciated

Hearing and eye protection are required. Gloves are strongly recommended as you will be required to help reset the targets for other competitors as they will for you. Water, sunscreen, rain gear, etc. should be considered.

Ammo: Bring plenty. Lead birdshot only, no steel. Expect 100 to 150 targets. A slug stage may require up to 20, depending on how fast you shoot. At any competition, it’s better to have too much. Serious competitors normally reload from the belt, carriers, magazines and/or speedloaders.
